WHAT WE DO

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Community Service

Our Spanish Honor Society volunteers at local elementary schools, helping out at their seasonal festivals, field days, and science fairs. We focus primarily on the Spanish-speaking kids not only to practice applying our conversational Spanish in the real world, but more importantly to help these children feel more welcome and at home.

We also serve at cultural festivals, local food banks, and charity runs. Again, we utilize these events as opportunities to further our learning of the Spanish language beyond the classroom while serving people in our community.

Finally, we partner with international groups to assist those in need. By selling water or bracelets at our school, we help those in need. For example, we have recently helped contribute to the Save the Children fund. We've also helped sell 'Yuda bands', which helps give youth proper schooling.

Spanish Tutoring

{ 3 }

Aside from serving the community, we also serve our school by providing tutoring for Spanish students who may need a little extra help grasping the language. From conjugations to conversations and even vocabulary, our members can assist you with learning just about anything.

Social and Cultural Gatherings

We never forget about parties! Our society regularly gathers together at monthly fiestas and social events in order to--as our mission states--promote the application of the Spanish language and the celebration of the Hispanic culture.

Major Hispanic holidays such as Día de la Independencia, Día de los Muertos, Navidad, and Día de Amistad are often centers of focus for these gatherings.

Complete with Hispanic music, dancing, informational presentations, and best of all, traditional Spanish comida, our social gatherings are not worth missing!
